The BioGS SPA-421A HEPA Air Purifier was engineered and developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The SPA-421A is highly efficient and ranks well in its quality and durability. Its BioGS HEPA filter is special in that it destroys allergens and bacteria on the filter rather than accumulating on the filter like in most conventional filters. Includes 4 levels of air filtration with 5 fan speeds (includes Turbo Mode and Whisper Silent Mode). Filters 99.97% of all airborne pollutants and allergens. Sleek and stylish design that comes in 4 colors.

The dust/particle sensor is not very sensitive - it appears to work only when smoke is blown toward the unit. I purchased this unit because I have seasonal allergies, unfortunately it does not operate based on pollen detection. I also tested it next to my lab - dog dander and dust do not register as well. Therefore, I believe the advertised particle/dust sensor was misleading. The rest of the unit works well.

This air purifier has done everything it claims to do. It is quiet!!!! We have it in our bedroom at the foot of the bed. It uses little power. It has worked wonders on the allergy problem we purchased it to help with. We leave the unit in Auto mode 24/7. The vast majority of time the unit is in it's lowest operating mode. When we move around it does automatically detect increase particles and increase the fan speed. It also increases fan speed when it detects odors including fish, orange, etc.
Well worth the $330.00 spent. Far superior to air purifier you can purchase at you local everthing store (Wal-Mart, Fred Meyers, etc.)
